Michigan Car Insurance
In Michigan, auto insurance companies can use credit scoring as a factor in determining your auto insurance premiums. There are also companies that do not use credit scoring as a factor in your automobile rates but getting car insurance through a company that doesn’t use credit scoring as a factor in determining your car insurance rate can actually result in a higher auto insurance premium.

Alaska Automobile Insurance Requirements:
The state of Michigan requires no-fault car insurance coverage. Everyone that owns a car must buy the Michigan state minimum automobile insurance requirements to get license plates. No-fault car insurance coverage in Michigan pays for your medical and loss of wages and the damage you cause to the other party’s property-regardless of who caused the car accident. Michigan no-fault car insurance does not pay for damages to your car. You can buy this coverage but Michigan auto insurance law does not require it.

Michigan no-fault car insurance coverage has three parts. The first is Personal Injury Protection. This part pays for your medical expenses and up to 85% of your lost wages for up to three years (there are limits to the lost wage benefit that change each year). There is a death benefit and $20 per day in replacement services, which cover services that an injured person are no longer able to do for themselves or their families, as a result of the car accident.

The second part of the mandatory no-fault car insurance coverage is property damage. This protection will pay up to $1 million for damage your car does in Michigan to other people’s property. This can include but not limited to cars, buildings, signs and fences.

Lastly, the Michigan no-fault coverage protects people with car insurance from being sued as a result of the car accident. There are exceptions to this for example if you cause an auto accident and someone is killed or seriously injured or if you are involved in a car accident in another state.

Remember, the Michigan no-fault system doesn’t pay for repairs or replacements if your car is damaged. You would have to purchase collision and comprehensive coverage and add that on to your auto insurance. You can start your automobile insurance quote for Michigan online. It’s easy at InsuranceFinder.
